6 Kingdom of God Essay Copy

Instructions

Write a 1 to 2-page essay (APA style page format).

After reading the two excerpts on the Kingdom of God, discuss the following questions:

  1. Briefly discuss your understanding of the “Kingdom of God.” What is it?
  2. Briefly describe what the phrase “already, but not yet” means as it applies to the Kingdom of God.
  3. Choose a passage from Matthew, Mark, or Luke that deals with the Kingdom of God (Kingdom of Heaven) and explain what it means (to the original audience and to us) in light of what you have learned about this concept.  Remember that the meaning for the original audience should identify that audience, be specific, and be written in the past tense.  The meaning for us should be written as a timeless theological principle.
  4. Develop a real-life application for the theological principle that comes from their passage.    Think about how the knowledge that we live in the time of the Kingdom of God, with its “already, but not yet” aspect, should affect the way we live our lives.  Remember, applications should be written as specific, real-life scenarios.
