ABOUT THIS COURSE
Build a foundation for college success that will prepare you with strategies and skills for academic work. Topics include navigating college-level academics, time management skills, writing at college standards, learning APA formatting, and managing stress.
What you’ll learn:
- Apply specific strategies to facilitate learning in the online environment
- Recognize and incorporate effective study skills
- Describe your own learning style and the implications for the online environment
- Detail ways you can be actively engaged in the online learning experience

By completing this course and the APA Certificate course with a demonstrated 80% proficiency, you are eligible to apply your Certificate of Completion for 2 academic credits toward an undergraduate degree at Crown College.
DR. SALLY FRY
Dr. Sally Fry works for the Northeastern District of the C&MA as a leadership development specialist. She has a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership, an M.A. in Instructional Design & Technology, an M.S. in Education, and a B.A. in Psychology. In the past, she worked in higher education in the areas of career development, residence life, and adjunct teaching. She is passionate about helping people effectively use the gifts and talents God has given them.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO LEARN ON CMTI:
Personal Computer: You must have access to a computer with Windows 8/10 or Mac OS X to complete the course work. Linux OS based computers will function for most online content, but you may run into some restrictions when trying to view multimedia content.
Internet Service: High-speed internet service is recommended.
CMTI Learning Management System: This course will be administered online here at cmti.crown.edu. CMTI runs on a different platform than Canvas. If you have a Crown Canvas account, please note that this login and password are NOT linked, and changing the password on one does not change your password on the other.
Microsoft Office: Students must submit assignments in Microsoft Word or PDF format unless otherwise specified in order to be graded by Crown’s instructors.
