ABOUT THIS COURSE
In this course, you’ll be introduced to strategies for addressing grief, loss and trauma. Content reviews common definitions for crisis, trauma, and disaster and explores behavioral health trauma impacts. The CATCH 101 (Churches As Trauma Care Hubs) concept is applied as a resource for you as you assist your community in crisis. You’ll learn when to refer out to professional services, and explore an overview of self-care strategies and assessment, foundational skills needed for helping relationships, and pastoral/lay crisis counseling processes and strategies.
